Dunkirk man accused of kidnapping autistic boy at Walmart

FREDONIA, N.Y. (WKBW) – A Dunkirk man is accused of kidnapping a boy with autism from a Walmart in Fredonia.

Police were called to the store on Bennett Road around 10:30 Sunday evening after the parents of the 13-year-old boy noticed their son was missing.

About 45 minutes later, police were called to Cushing Street in the Village after getting reports a child had been found.

The boy was reunited with his family and after a brief interview, police say they learned the child had left the store with a 38-year-old man identified as Samuel Saeli.

According to officers, Saeli was seen on store surveillance video approaching the teen, then walking out of the store with the boy and getting into his car.

Saeli is now charged with kidnapping in the second degree and is free on bail.
